POLIO TRAINING FOR FRONTLINE HEALTH WORKERS

The Rotary Club of Silchar organized a Polio Training Programme for frontline health workers, including ANMs, ASHAs, and Anganwadi Workers, to strengthen routine immunization and sustain a polio-free community. The training covered micro-plan reviews, vaccine cold chain management, safe vaccine administration, and effective interpersonal communication for community mobilization. The Rotary Club of Silchar, in association with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics – Barak Valley Chapter, observed World Obesity Day on 6th March 2026 at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), as 4th March coincided with the Holi festival. An Awareness Walkathon was organised to highlight the growing health concerns related to obesity and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Eminent pediatricians of the valley—Dr. Pinaki Chakraborty, Dr. Janet Fahreim, Dr. D. J. Nath, Dr. Hameed Uddin Ahmed, and Dr. Anurag Dutta—along with renowned gastroenterologist Dr. D. J. Polio-Free World is our aim — and our dream. Mega Health Camp at Salganga | A Collective Effort for Community Wellness A Mega Health Camp was successfully organized at Salganga by Vivekananda Mandal, Siba Sundari Narisikshashram, and Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, in association with the Rotary Club of Silchar and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Barak Valley Chapter.
