World Breastfeeding Week was observed at Jeevan Jyoti Institute of Medical Sciences (JJ Hospital) in association with Rotary Club of Silchar, Lions Club of Silchar Ananta, IMA Cachar Branch, and IAP Barak Valley Chapter. Dr. Monika Deb, Secretary of IMA Cachar Branch, spoke on the benefits of breastfeeding. Pediatricians Dr. Abhishek Chakraborty and Dr. D. J. Nath, Secretary of IAP Barak Valley Chapter & Rotarian, explained its technical aspects. Lion Anita Mazumder and JJ Hospital CMO Mr. Prem Kiran Nath also addressed the gathering. The event saw active participation from mothers with newborns, along with staff from Newborn, Pediatric, and Gynecology wards.
